2022 Rhythm and Brews Lineup
National Touring Tributes

From coast to coast these bands are known for their near-exact reenactments of 3 of the greatest rock bands of all time. No corners are cut; the look, sound, and detail are matched perfectly while delivering an unforgettable performance on every stage.  We’re proud to welcome Best Friends Girl – The #1 Cars Experience, B Street Band – The Original Springsteen tribute, and this year’s headliner Refugee – The Ultimate Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers Experience, to the Rhythm and Brews stage to take our 2022 event to the next level.

Best Friends Girl – The #1 Cars Experience

Best Friends Girl recreate the timeless hits of The Cars spanning a 35-year career, with over 23 million albums sold and having more than 22 songs on the Billboard top 100.  The Cars undoubtedly left their mark in popular culture with notable hits like “Best Friends Girl,” “Shake It Up,” “Magic,” “Let’s Go” and of course, “Moving in Stereo” which gained notoriety from its placement in the movie “Fast Times at Ridgemont High.”  Best Friends Girl are comprised of lifelong, top-notch, professional musicians whose goal is to keep the music of The Cars alive with every performance!

1pm-2:30pm

B Street Band – The Original Springsteen Tribute Band

From the heart of the Jersey shore, “Backstreets” was the first band in the world to do a unique tribute to a live performer. There are now an estimated 140,000 tribute bands following their lead and performing all over the world. Nearly 6000 performances later, now named the BSTREETBAND—they are still the hardest working tribute band on the circuit with 175+ shows per year throughout the country.

3pm-4:30pm

Refugee - The Ultimate Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers Experience

Refugee was formed in early 2014 by six seasoned New York musicians who love Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Refugee has become one of the most successful nationally touring tributes to Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Playing the best of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Tom Petty solo music and some Mudcrutch and Travlin’ Willbury’s thrown in for good measure with such crazy precision you have to see to believe.

Presented by the Scranton Brewers Guild
Beer School

Have you ever wanted to know how your beer is made? Well now’s your chance! We’ll have 4 classes included FREE with your ticket that will teach you the history and the art of brewing. Join The Scranton Brewer’s Guild as they teach an insider’s perspective on how the professionals brew their beer, sample some drinks, and explore the art of beer tasting. We offer a classroom setting in the retail building, so stop by, bring your pens and a notepad, and get ready for lessons you don’t want to miss!

CLASS ONE: BACK TO BASICS! 2:00 PM
Drinking beer is fairly straight forward. Take beer, put in glass, drink, repeat. TASTING beer… now that’s a bit more complex. Whether this is your first or thousandth beer festival it’s important to learn how to properly taste the beers you are sampling and get the most out of the beers the festival has to offer. Join The Scranton Brewers Guild, share a beer, and explore the art of beer tasting to help you get the most out of your festival experience.

CLASS TWO: THE BIRDS AND THE BEES OF BEER MAKING. 3:00 PM
When a hop and a malt really love each other, and a little help from some water and yeast, they will get together and produce the most amazing offspring… BEER! For thousands of years people all over the world have combined those four simple ingredients to create an amazing variety of beer styles. However, whether it’s a light crisp pilsner, or a strong barrel aged stout, all beer starts off the same way. Join The Scranton Brewers Guild, as we sample our way through the brewing process, learn about the importance of each step, and learn how you t0o can brew your own beer at home.

CLASS THREE: A CIDER A DAY KEEPS THE DOCTOR AWAY. 4:00 PM
Hard cider has been a cornerstone beverage in the northeastern United States since before the revolutionary war, and in recent years ciders popularity has grown. It is approachable to the wine drinker due to its lack of hops, is naturally gluten free, and with the abundance of fresh apple cider in the northeast, it’s very easy to make at home.  Join The Scranton Brewers Guild as we sample some excellent ciders, learn about the cider brewing process and a little about what makes the difference between a really great…. and a really bad cider.

CLASS FOUR: HOW BEER APPS KILLED THE BASIC CRAFT BEER. 5:00 PM
Ever just miss a great, simple beer? You know the one I’m talking about, it tastes like beer, easy drinking, and doesn’t require a flat cap, beard, and a flannel shirt for you to enjoy. Beer Apps like Untapped have become a central part of the craft beer industry and, in many ways, has changed the way we drink beers, and the beers breweries make. However, many of the features of these apps are often overlooked as users focus on the “rare” or “one-off beer” check ins.  Join The Scranton Brewers Guild, as we sample some excellent under rated beers and learn about some of these beer apps and the cool overlooked features that can help you find and explore beers you may never have known about.
